Food Advocate Profile: Northwest Culinary Academy & @Klippersorganic
Our mission at Foodtree is to connect people with where their food comes from. With this in mind we’re highlighting Vancouver farms and producers we think do a fantastic job of contributing, promoting, and building the local food scene. We call them Food Advocates.
This post is part of a series to acknowledge the food producers who were part of our iphone app launch at Creekside Community Centre in partnership with the City of Vancouver at the end of June.
About the Northwest Culinary Academy: The Northwest Culinary Academy is a culinary school in Vancouver owned and run by Chef Tony and Chef Christophe. Their philosophy for the school is “to teach how they want to be taught” and they’ve created an intimate setting where they work closely with students from enrollment, through training, to employment. Watch the introductory video on the NWCA homepage and you’ll feel compelled to go to cooking school as you listen to these two speak.
What we love about the school: At our recent app launch with the City of Vancouver, Chef Tony and his students served up a delicious vichisoise made with kohlrabi sourced from Klippers Organic Acres. It was a tasty dish that highlighted the produce of one of the Vancouver Farmers Markets’ most prolific and best loved vendors.
